Thirty Years Inside the System. Now on Your Side of It.
Angie Galatas spent three decades as a clinician: a speech-language pathologist treating stroke, brain injury, and other neurological conditions, with her final ten years alongside a laryngologist caring for patients with voice, swallowing, and cancer-related disorders. She worked inside the hospitals, clinics, and rehab units where the hardest weeks of families’ lives unfold, and she watched the same scene repeat for thirty years: capable, devoted families handed a diagnosis, a discharge date, and a stack of paperwork, and left to coordinate a system that assumes someone else is doing the coordinating.
Nobody else was. So she became that person.
Angie is a Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA), certified through the Patient Advocate Certification Board, with advocacy training completed at the University of Miami. She founded Medical Advocacy Plus to give families what she could never give them from inside the system: a single accountable expert, retained privately, with no allegiance to any hospital, insurer, or facility. Present where the decisions are made, fluent in the medicine, and relentless about follow-through. Her advocacy practice reaches well beyond her clinical specialties: MAP serves medically complex patients of every kind.
